Say Hello to the Cambria Dream Beach Bag!
What is a trip to the beach without a good beach tote?
You know, a beach bag that fits everything you need: a towel or a beach blanket, a good book, the latest fashion magazine, a hairbrush, and whatever else you need for the fun day in the sun.

Since I have designed at least 3 beach blankets, I thought that a beach bag was in order, so I made one!
I named this beach bag after Cambria, a small beach town along the Central Coast of California, one of my favorite places to go. I get inspired with new project ideas every time I go there π
There is just something about the blue sky, the freshness of the air, cool breeze, bright blue water on a sunny day, and the noise of the waves that get my imagination going. That is where my love for the blues and seafoams, sandy beiges, and crΓ¨me whites comes from. I just canβt get enough of these beachy colors β everything with them makes me feel happy.

For the Cambria Dream Beach Bag, I used my favorite cotton blend yarn Caron Cotton Cakes in three complementary colors and it matches the Beachglass Cotton Afghan blanket I made last year. Encinitas Crochet Cotton Afghan is a pretty nice match too.
This crocheted beach bag is the answer to your beachside wishes. Made of sturdy and easy to care for cotton blend yarn, it’s is as pretty as it’s practical. Large and light, this crochet summer beach tote is fun to take along.
The colors of this fun beach bag are magical together and make for a one dreamy tote.

To make this bag really practical, I used a cotton blend yarn from Caron Cotton Cakes in Aqua Breeze, Beachglass, and Silver Clouds. They were simply made for each other!
What I really like about this beach bag is that it uses only 2 basic stitches to make (SC stitch and HDC stitch) but looks so chic. This design is beginner-friendly and timeless cause itβs a total classic.
The bottom of the bag uses single crochet to make it sturdy and keep everything in. The sides are using half-double crochet to keep on with a study, dense design but with more visual interest.

The stripes of changing colors make the bag fun and a joy to look at. This bag can be made with any of the single colors if you want, but I think that the stripes make it really beachy and fresh.
The best part is that you donβt have to wait until your trip to the beach to use this oversized tote. Use it the market or as a boho fashion statement. You can even use it to hold your yarn or the latest crochet project!
